Opening Ceremonies
This event will usher in the entire celebration by a parade of all komedya players along major streets in UP. They will be accompanied by marching bands to officially announce the opening of the festival.
Serenata ng mga Banda
Marching bands play an important role in any komedya performance. To give prominence to this role, a special concert will be held every Friday afternoon in February 2008 to feature selected bands from Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Philippine Fiesta Booth and Perya
One of the attractions of this celebration is the display of “the best of Philippine fiesta booths” that will be curated as one big exhibit. This component was conceived to promote awareness and educate the youths, tourists, academic community and the general public of the Philippine’s most celebrated fiesta and the distinct manner each fiesta is celebrated.
Palaro at Palabas sa Perya
Every afternoon of each komedya day, visitors especially the kids will be educated and entertained by special shows like puppet performance, storytelling and komedya excerpt. Others may join the fun and win prizes by participating in traditional games like palosebo, tsakad, pabitin, agawan ng buko and the likes.The perya area will also feature jugglers, stilt walkers, higantes, magic shows and many others.
