Prof. Rosalinde Fleur M. Zapata is an Assistant Professor of the French Language and translation courses offered by the Department of European Languages (DEL). She started her teaching career in June 2000. She is most commonly known to her colleagues and students as <<Cinddi>>, a nickname whose spelling she modified a little.

She is the first graduate of the MA French Program, (Translation) of the DEL, which she completed last April 2002. A former president of the APFP, Association des Professeurs de Français aux Philippines, she has ever since been active in the organization of seminars on the French Language and Culture, for Filipino teachers teaching French as a Foreign Language.
Translation is a field of study that she is most interested in and passionate about. In fact, her MA thesis was a translation from French into Filipino, of a historical Text by Gaston Willoquet. <<Histoire des Philippines>>. She also enjoys translating poems. She translated into Filipino selected poems of Jacques Prévert. She is an adviser and panel member of students who do translations, or translation analysis of literary texts, both in the undergraduate and graduate levels.
