Erwin Thaddeus L. Bautista

Associate Professor

French and Spanish - Translation; Philippine Literature in Spanish

He finished a Bachelor of Arts (European Languages) degree major in French and Spanish from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. He obtained a Diploma in Spanish Language and Literature from the Instituto de Cooperación Iberoamericana of Madrid, Spain as a scholar of the aforementioned institution. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Spanish also from UP Diliman. Recipient of the EU-ASEAN Scholarship program for the year 1994-95 and finished one academic year for a graduate degree in Translation (French/English) at the University of Saarland, Germany. He was also twice a former scholar of the Government of Quebec, Canada, which allowed him to pursue a course in Teaching French as a Second Language and another course in Business French at the University of Montreal, Canada. He started teaching French and Spanish in the Department of European Languages of the College of Arts and Letters right after his graduation in 1984. He also served as Department Chair for three terms from 1999 up to 2007.
