The UP Diliman College of Arts and Letters (CAL) commemorates the first anniversary of the Faculty Center Fire (April 1, 2016), this first week of April (CAL WEEK). The Department of Art Studies contributes to CAL Week through an exhibit that explores the narratives of loss and responses to the FC fire, in the context of its lingering effect on the UP community. It attempts to map out the “sense of place” of individual and collective displacements and losses, struggles and breakthroughs, as both physical and social, negotiating spatial belonging. Curated by the graduate students of ArtStud 284 (Contexts of Curatorial Practices) under Dr. Cecilia De La Paz, the exhibit runs 4 -27 April, 2017, at the Atelyer, Bulwagan ng Dangal University Heritage Museum.
