Everyone is invited to attend a research forum organized by the College of Arts and Letters on April 7, 2017. The lectures will be given by scholars Nerissa Balce and Ferdinand Lopez.
Nerissa Balce is a cultural studies scholar based in Long Island, New York. She is an associate professor of Asian and Asian American Studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her book, Body Parts of Empire, was published by the University of Michigan Press.
Ferdinand Lopez is a gender and cultural studies scholar. He is an associate professor of literature at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. He is the author of essays on the bakla in Filipino fiction and popular culture, and Filipino gay culture during the Marcos regime. He is a doctoral candidate in literature at De La Salle University Manila.
