The Philippine Humanities Review, Special Edition, “CAL GE Lecture Series: Tatak UP” gathers together the lectures delivered during the UP Diliman College of Arts and Letters (UPD CAL) lecture series on general education (GE). The lecture series sought to examine the evolution and framework of the University’s GE program and to lay the groundwork for future GE curricula.

The series was kicked off by University Professor Emeritus Gemino H. Abad and National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera. The next lectures were delivered by Dr. Malou Camagay from the Department of History; Professor Felipe de Leon, Jr., the Director of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts; Dr. Ramon Guillermo from the Department of Filipino and Philippine Literature; Dr. Ricardo T. Jose from the Department of History; Dr. Fidel Nemenzo, Vice Chancellor for Research and Development; Professor Portia Padilla, the former Director of Instruction; Dr. Elizabeth Ventura from the Department of Psychology; and Dr. Mark Albert Zarco from the Institute of Civil Engineering.
